TEHRAN – The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) will visit Brussels early next week, AEOI spokesman Behrooz Kamalvandi said on Wednesday.

Ali Akbar Salehi will hold talks with officials from the European Union’s Directorate-General for Energy, discuss Iran’s nuclear cooperation with the EU within the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the spokesman explained.

Kamalvandi added that Salehi may visit another country as well, but did not provide any further details.

Referring to follow-ups to the JCPOA, he said the upcoming joint committee meeting on the JCPOA implementation will be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

He also commented on a contract with Russia to build two nuclear power plants in southern Iran, saying the bricklaying of the power plants will be held on Saturday in Bushehr with Iranian and Russian representatives in attendance.
